Key takeaway

The Jane Crookall Maternity Unit is on the 1st floor of Noble's Hospital. During normal hours, enter through the main entrance. When the main hospital is closed, access is through the A&E department.

During normal hours

When the main hospital building is open, follow these directions to find the Jane Crookall Maternity Unit:

  1. Enter Noble's Hospital through the main entrance
  2. Walk past the café
  3. Go through the double doors
  4. Turn right
  5. Walk until you see the lifts and stairs on your right
  6. Go up to the 1st floor (via the lifts or stairs)
  7. Turn right out of the lifts/stairs, then right again
  8. Walk all the way along the corridor to the Jane Crookall Unit
  9. Buzz the intercom to request access

The unit is staffed 24 hours a day. If you are arriving for an appointment, you may want to allow a few extra minutes to find your way through the building.

Out-of-hours access

When the main hospital building is closed (typically evenings and overnight), you cannot use the main entrance. Instead:

  1. Go to the A&E department, which is at the other side of the building
  2. Walk through the outside doors of A&E and turn left
  3. Walk through to the main corridor
  4. Follow it all the way down, past the main entrance double doors, to the lifts and stairs on your right
  5. Go up to the 1st floor, turn right then right again
  6. Walk along the corridor to the Jane Crookall Unit and buzz the intercom

If you are in labour or have an urgent concern, always phone the maternity unit first on 01624 650030. The midwives will advise you on when to come in and confirm which entrance to use.
